TLDR:
Coins "graduate" when they reach 80% of total supply in circulation
Graduated coins are automatically listed on Meteora DEX
Graduated coins can no longer be battled on Meme Royale
Graduation implies a market cap of 2,400 SOL (approx $420k)
When a memecoin reaches the required market cap (2,400 SOL, approx $420k), escape velocity has been reached and the coin will be launched on Meteora DEX, with immediate support and integration on Jupiter.
When the coin reaches it's graduation point, trading is temporarily frozen on Meme Royale.
The process usually takes only a few seconds, but may sometimes take longer if network congestion occurs.
A permissionless crank triggers the graduation logic, and liquidity and remaining supply are migrated to Meteora DEX. The coin then becomes freely tradeable on the open market.
The LP tokens are burned, meaning there is no rug-risk.
Graduated coins can no longer be battled on Meme Royale
Trading continues on Meteora DEX where the coin was launched
The coin now has exposure to a wider market and potentially higher liquidity
Graduation is a significant achievement for a memecoin on Meme Royale:
Validation: It proves the coin has substantial community support and trading volume.
Wider Access: Being listed on a major DEX opens the coin to a broader audience of traders.
Increased Liquidity: Generally, graduation leads to higher liquidity and trading volume.
Stability: Graduated coins are safe from further battles, providing some stability.
Remember, while graduation is a significant milestone, it doesn't guarantee long-term success. Continued community engagement and development are key to a coin's longevity.
In regular trading, reaching the target market cap immediately triggers graduation and listing on Meteora.
However, during battles, the graduation cap is temporarily lifted. This means:
Coins can trade beyond the usual graduation market cap
It's possible for both coins in the battle to exceed the graduation point
In this case, the result of the battle will determine which one (if either) graduates
Even if both coins surpass the graduation market cap, only the battle winner graduates
The winner is still determined by who "pumps the hardest," regardless of exceeding graduation point
If the winning coin is above the graduation point, graduation is not triggered until after the settlement takes place, meaning there is sitll no cap applied on the settlement trade.
All the liquidity from the losing (rekt) coin flows into the winner
This results in a massive pump on top of already exceeding graduation - a "mega-double pump"
If the winning coin is above the graduation point after settlement, it immediately graduates and launches on Meteora.
Meme Royale uses a hybrid bonding curve from the graduation point and above. This curve is steeper than the inital curve and and is intended to approximate the price action that would occur in a Constant Product AMM (like Meteora) were it already trading there. This ensures that the price at graduation and the initial price on Meteora are not out of line, even when a coin overshoots graduation within Meme Royale.
