📢Proposing Battles

Battles are at the heart of Meme Royale, but they don't just happen automatically. Here's how to start a battle and what you need to know about staking.

TLDR:

  • Propose a battle against an eligible coin

  • Stake coins to support the proposal

  • Reach the required stake threshold to start the battle

  • Stakers can unstake before the battle starts

  • Stakers get bonuses for winning, penalties for losing

  • You can unstake from proposals which haven't yet succeeded, or are no longer valid

This is an advanced topic, and is not essential to enjoy buying, selling and battling memecoins on Meme Royale.

However, if you want to become a raidlord and start proposing and supporting battles, let's dive in!

Eligible Opponents & Battles

Battles can take place between coins which are of a similar size -- defined as being with 50% and 200% of each other's market cap.

A battle cannot be proposed or begin if either coin:

  • Is in an existing battle (you'll have to wait)

  • Is rekt and no longer tradeable

  • Is graduated

  • Is new and subject to initial protection from battle (until it reaches a minimum of 25 hours alive or 25 SOL market cap, whichever comes first)

  • Is subject to a post-battle dirty dump tax

It is possible that proposals which were valid become invalid because circumstances changed, and any of the above scenarios arise. In this case, any stake can be reclaimed without pentalty and applied elsewhere.

Proposing a Battle

  1. Navigate to the page of the coin you want to attack with

  2. Click on the "Battle" tab

  3. Choose an eligible opponent from the list (50-200% of your coin's market cap)

  4. Click "Propose Battle" to initiate the proposal, if a proposal doesn't already exist

  5. Some stake is required to propose a raid, you can choose to put up some stake or the entire amount required (if you have it) for the battle to get started immediately

  6. Confirm the transaction on your wallet

Staking to Support a Battle

Staking is crucial for a battle to begin. Here's how it works:

  1. When a battle proposal is live, you can support it by adding stake to it until the amount required for the battle to being is met

  2. Enter the amount of your coin you want to stake (or stake the full amount required, if you have it, for the battle to get started immediately)

  3. Confirm the transaction on your wallet

Remember:

  • The required stake amount depends on the market caps of both coins

  • The amount of stake required depends on your coin's market cap and the difference between the two coins' market caps. It's calculated as:

    max(
         2% * attackingCoinMarketCap,
         5% * abs(attackingCoinMarketCap - targetCoinMarketCap)
    )
  • Multiple holders can contribute to reach the staking threshold

Why propose or stake? Rewards and Risks

Staking comes with both potential rewards and risks:

  • If your side wins: You get a bonus (currently 10% of the losing coin's liquidity)

  • If your side loses: Your staked coins are converted at a slightly worse rate than non-stakers

Unstaking, Claiming Winnings or Collecting Conversions

You can unstake your coins anytime before the battle starts, or from raid proposals that are no longer valid. (i.e. one of the coins is rekt or has graduated)

  1. When connected to the application, navigate to the "Proposals" tabe on your portfolio

  2. Find the proposal you would like to unstake, collect battle bounty or claim your losing conversions from

  3. Click on the buttons related to the desired action

  4. In the case of unstaking, you can choose to unstaked in full or in part.

  5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet

Tips for Battle Starters

  2. Rally Support: Use social media to get your community to support the stake

  3. Be Prepared: Have a plan for how you'll pump your coin once the battle starts

  4. Watch the Clock: Be aware of the staking progress and be ready for the battle to start
